Dr. Ilana Gurevich N.D., L.Ac., MSOM

Dr. Ilana Gurevich, N.D., L.Ac., MSOM, spent her childhood in New York. At the age of 19, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease: Many medical doctors told her that the condition could never be cured. This prognosis led to Dr. Gurevich’s first encounter with alternative medicine. A naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist not only completely cured her of Crohn’s disease, but also educated and inspired her to pursue her own path in naturopathic and Chinese medicine.

Dr. Gurevich graduated from the oldest accredited naturopathic medical school in the country, the National College of Natural Medicine. Her Chinese medicine training is in Classical Chinese medicine, which uses the ancient texts of China as the foundation of education. She integrates the healing powers of the mind, body and spirit to provide holistic healthcare for her patients. Dr. Gurevich combines conventional medical diagnostics with effective natural therapies to restore the body’s innate ability to heal.

She believes that the body has an inherent ability to cure itself, and she views her role as an assistant in that process. She can support the body’s natural balance, as well as remove obstacles to health.

Dr. Gurevich relies heavily on her Chinese medicine training to provide ongoing care for her patients. She practices five-element acupuncture, a method that establishes emotional and physical balance within the body so patients can achieve optimal health. This system utilizes the laws of nature to help diagnose and treat patients. Relying on natural laws, it recognizes that the health of a person’s entire body, mind and spirit must be taken into account in order to fully diagnose the cause of an illness. Only with such a complete picture can balance and health be restored on all levels.

Dr. Gurevich is a naturopathic medical physician and acupuncturist who uses individualized natural therapies to address the underlying cause of disease. She encourages her patients to take an active role in their own health care. Dr. Gurevich relies on a variety of natural modalities including Chinese and Western herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutritional supplements, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and dietary education.
