A Personal Message From Dr. Jon Luchs ‘Lukes’, Naturopathic Physician, Licensed Acupuncturist
As a naturopathic physician [and acupuncturist] based in Portland, Oregon, I am both a primary care doctor and an alternative medicine expert. Along with helping you to interpret your lab values and clinical history, we will consider which complementary treatments suit you best: pharmacologic, botanical, homeopathic, nutrition, acupuncture/acupressure, and hydrotherapy.
Natural medicine is about you, the patient. With a little direction and the right therapeutic catalysts, you can make simple and profound lifestyle changes: from no to yes, from nothing to something. Furthermore, when we improve our lifestyle patterns (diet, exercise, stress…) our bodies lean towards health, naturally.
My principles: Let nature heal. Do no harm. Educate patients. Treat underlying causes. Treat the whole person. Prevent illness.
Youngest of four boys, my identical twin brother and I grew up in Singapore, Paris, Malaysia, Australia and Washington, DC. My interest in natural medicine took root 12 years ago, with an apprenticeship to herbalist 7Song, and it flourished through seven busy years at the National College of Natural Medicine. My interest in community health evolved through two years of working at Patch Adams’ Gesundheit! Institute. Amongst my more enthusiastic patients is my three-year old son. I look forward to hearing your story, and to helping you navigate your road to better health.
