Erin’s fascination with health and holistic medicine began at the young age of six. For most of her childhood, she suffered from severe allergies and migraine headaches, causing her to miss nearly 30 days of school each year. She remembers thinking that if something could offer her lasting relief, she’d dedicate her life to practicing it. Erin had her first experience with acupuncture many years later, while attending college at the University of Montana. After a 48-hour migraine, acupuncture provided instantaneous relief and made a lasting impression. Immediately after college, she put aside dreams of becoming a professional swimmer or astronaut and pursued her childhood promise to study and practice medicine.
Erin received a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from one of the premier schools in the country, the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. In her first year of study, she discovered Taoist-based five-element acupuncture, as taught by David Ford, L.Ac., which she implements in her practice today. The modality’s emphasis on the emotional and spiritual component of healing allows Erin to assist patients beyond physical complaints toward greater personal evolution.
Erin also has advanced training in Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET), a specialized technique that eliminates allergies and reverses food intolerances. Through consistent practice of NAET, she has discovered that a majority of chronic, persistent symptoms are due to hidden allergies. Additionally, she believes that emotional blockages and self-limiting belief systems often get in the way of one’s health, happiness, and success. She utilizes the NAET technique to uncover hidden allergies and isolate blockages in the subconscious realm. Erin works with each unique individual to find out where blockages exist, locate their origins, and then assist the patient in removing them. Erin finds great fulfillment in this area of her practice and is dedicated to restoring each being to their natural, harmonious state.
Away from her healing practice, Erin enjoys the outdoors, which she considers her sanctuary and playground. She has an appetite for travel, and nourishes it as often as possible. Some of her favorite places are Mexico, Quebec, Brazil, and Montana. She pays tribute to her roots and family in New Orleans on a regular basis. She loves and appreciates dance, good food and wine, friends, and boots. Erin considers one of her greatest triumphs in life is to have made peace with imperfection. She counts her blessings every day.
