Dr. Olsen is currently completing a one year full time residency with Dr. Ilana Gurevich, ND, LAc, focusing on naturopathic gastroenterology and primary care.
Dr. Olsen is a board-certified naturopathic physician and acupuncturist who graduated from National University of Natural Medicine, the oldest accredited naturopathic medical school in the country. She trained in Naturopathic primary care, combining the best of conventional and naturopathic modalities to promote optimal health. Additionally, she trained in Classical Chinese Medicine, which utilizes the ancient texts of China as the foundation of education.
During her naturopathic clinical training, she focused on women’s health, mental health, gastrointestinal disorders, hormone balancing, and cardiovascular health. In addition to conventional medicine diagnostics, Dr. Olsen utilizes a variety of natural modalities including diet and lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, supplementation, homeopathy, and hydrotherapy. As part of her Chinese medicine education, she did extensive trainings in 5 Element Acupuncture, Shen Hammer Pulse Diagnosis, and non-insertive techniques. Dr. Olsen continues to blend these modalities to treat the whole person on all levels (mind, body, spirit) to increase quality of life and well-being.
Dr. Olsen strongly believes in doctor as teacher, and strives to empower her patients through education. She is passionate about delivering patient-centered care, and integrates Naturopathic and Chinese medicine to best serve her patients and their individual needs.
When not at Kwan Yin, Dr. Olsen enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her pup Dalilah the English Bulldog. Her hobbies include Bullet Journaling, calligraphy, hiking, and reading.
